Minya the not-bird was angry at the world. It was angry at time, and it was angry at the mess of decisions it had made within. More than anything, however, it was angry at its own existence and how little there was to be had of it. There were too many pathways to be explored, yet all too little lives to be lived.

Too many beautiful possibilities made suffocating thoughts danced in a chaotic hysteria, uprooting and trampling on all that was sound and secure until what was left pooled and fell in tears that stumbled their way down planes of pallid skin and drowned themselves in each other as she realised that all that had happened could not be undone.

Fictional memories, wishful hopes and fantastical dreams of

Sunlight scattered across curious hands, bruised and nicked from too many hours spent twisting through great forests

Yearning eyes seeking ones to match and confide in

Cold feet dangling off ivory cliffs shrouded in mist at the edge of the world// whilst waves of black and blue crash below, just out of reach

Hungry gazes starved of beauty// drinking in the star-speckled void of the night sky

Running towards both everywhere and nowhere underneath short-tempered skies tangled and alive with rain

False memories, wistful hopes and futile dreams all gone to waste at the hands of space and time
